Best to Test
The scene is a sidewalk winding through a vast and neatly manicured lawn, belonging to a public elementary school with a flag waving above it.
Two neatly dressed girls wearing sensible shoes converse as they walk away from the school, bent forward at the waist from the weight of their overstuffed backpacks. They appear to be average, innocent-looking middle-school-aged kids, with the exception of their oddly pubescent breasts.
A blonde-haired girl with a bob haircut looks defeated as she complains to her worried looking pony-tailed companion, "So far all we're learning is how to take a math test, how to take a science test, and how to take a reading test." In the same boat as many parents, teachers, schools, taxpayers, and most importantly students, the cartoonist, Bob Englehart opposes standardized testing and the pressure it puts on children. The contrast created in drawing childish-looking girls with untimely large breasts highlights the unnatural pressure placed on children in the U.
S.
, giving the impression that children today grow up too quickly.
The anxious expressions on the youngster's faces imply that they are being pushed to meet the current and increasingly rigid standards, and the overstuffed backpacks illustrate the disproportionate load children are being burdened to carry. If our children were being pushed to actually learn and retain things, the child's comments at the base of the cartoon wouldn't be so bad; however they are merely learning how to take tests, which has scary implications for the future. Originally introduced to classrooms in the 1920's , standardized tests assess the basic reading, writing, math and science skills of elementary through high school aged students.
It wasn't until the mid 1980's that standardized testing became political and The National Governors Association came up with the concept of "performance based accountability" leading to the amendment of Title 1 in 1994 making performance-based accountability mandatory. Under President Bush's 2001 education reform law, "The No Child Left Behind Act", schools must administer twice as many standardized tests and students must meet twice as many standards as before.
The Elementary and Secondary Education Act was reauthorized in 2002, tremendously increasing school accountability along with rewards, aid and punishments.
If standards are met, schools receive federal funding; if standards are not met, students are held back, teachers are sanctioned or "let go', and schools lose funding and are forced to be converted to charter schools or to close.
The politicians claim that putting students, teachers and school administrators in a position of accountability will increase their incentive to strive for higher standards, but unfortunately, the measures with which they assess the standards are biased and inaccurate, and therefore invalid. In light of these facts, I argue that standardized tests are a legal weapon created by and for politicians as yet another way to hold down the masses of poor, which are more often than not minorities.
A current doctoral student, to whom English is a second language, grew up attending Los Angeles public schools where despite excelling in classes, she "scored unbelievably low on standardized reading tests, up to and including the SAT", as did the majority of her bilingual classmates.
Test questions include phrases such as, "ball and chain" and "straight from the horses mouth" reflecting the parlance of white, middle to upper class males.
Frustrated middle school teacher, Don Perl sarcastically "proposed dumping the Colorado Student Assessment Program (CSAP, Colorado's standardized test) and using the percentage of students eligible for free or reduced lunches to classify schools". What Perl is saying is that the results of standardized tests are predictable, and that it isn't hard to see the obvious socioeconomic disparity and its correlation to standardized test results. The title of The Daily Camera article, "Incomes are Outcomes in the Classroom", sums it up well.
The article reveals the following statistics: 76 percent of high-income fourth graders are reading at or above the proficient level; while only 43 percent of low-income fourth graders are reading at or above the proficient level. Harvard Magazine reports that schools performing high on standardized tests "reflect the social capital (high socioeconomic status) of their students rather than the internal capacity of the schools", and asserts that test-based accountability widens the gap between schools serving the rich and the poor. As a result of these biases, low income (often minority) children are more likely to be retained in a grade, or placed in a "lower track" or special/remedial education programs when not necessary, due to test results.
Those children will be negatively labeled as "failures" and from that point on will likely receive a "dumbed down" curriculum, based on practicing test taking.
Alternately, the children from the "white, middle-upper class income backgrounds will be placed in gifted and talented or college preparatory programs where they are challenged to read, explore, investigate, think and progress rapidly". Let's not measure a child's potential as it correlates with the financial success of their birth families. Our society was intended to be equal opportunity, not caste-based. Let's be fair to the youth of our nation and provide them with an education that they deserve, regardless socioeconomic class.
Let's advocate to eliminate consequence based standardized testing.

How Does Bullying Affect People?
Bullying affects people of all ages in a number of different ways. Many people are first bullied by others before they come to adopt the behavior themselves.
Whether a person is bullied and a bully or just one or the other the effects it has on them can be long lasting.
Types Of Bullies To understand how does bullying affect people it is important to be familiar with the different types of bullies. These include narcissistic/sadistic, imitative, impulsive, physical, verbal, impulsive, subordinate, pair, gang, pressure, regulation, residual, client, institutional and corporate bullying. The Triggers Of Bullies There are several factors that can trigger the actions of any bully. These are envy, jealousy, a feeling of invisibility in their home life, emotionally distant parents and both physical and verbal abuse.
Psychological Effects Of Being Bullied According to a 2013 article in Forbes Magazine the psychological effects of being bullied can and do stay with people for a long time.
The effects are particularly bad for those who have been bullied, more so than for the ones that acted like bullies.
The Journal of the American Medical Association ran the results of a study that followed kids who were bullied or were bullies, from their childhood straight through to adulthood. The study was conducted in Northern California on students at the ages of 9, 11 and 13, most of whom were contacted again as adults. Of the people that participated in this study 5% were only bullies themselves and 21% were only the victims of other bullies.
A reported 4.
5% of the study participants reported that they had been both the bullied and the bully. Between the ages of 19 and 26 the participants in this study were contacted on a follow up basis.
The results were that people who had been bullied as a child are more likely to suffer from anxiety, panic and depressive disorders as well as agoraphobia.
Of the participants who experienced bullying from both sides 25% of them reported that they had had suicidal thoughts in their early adult years as a result. These participants have a high risk of developing an antisocial personality disorder. In comparison, roughly 38% of the participants who were both bullied and bullies now have have a panic disorder to deal with.
The Effect Of Experiencing Bullying During Childhood In schools across the country one of every five children has been the victim of bullying.
There is a cycle that kids who experience bullying go through.
It starts with students who assume a leadership role among their peers and use that to bully others.
Kids in this role often have many of their classmates following them.
While a bully's followers don't usually engage in bullying themselves they do nothing to discourage it either. Supporters and others who do nothing to stop bullies are often referred to as passive bullies. These kids regularly draw attention the actions of a bully, but they do not participate in those actions. Passive supporters of bullies and their actions don't express their support for the bullies, but they secretly enjoy watching others get bullied.
Kids who witness bullying but don't care about it are called disengaged onlookers.
These kids either tell themselves to watch the bully at work or that it is none of their business what the bully is doing.
Other kids witness the bullying and disapprove of it but they don't help the person being bullied even though they want to.
Other kids will step up to defend a friend or classmate from a bully.
Kids who strictly watch others being bullied but don't step in often act this way out of fear.
They feel powerless and guilty because they are not helping whoever is being bullied.
While they may feel a temptation to participate in the bullying they usually won't give in to do so.
Kids who are always the bully often find themselves engaged in fist fights, vandalizing property and items that do not belong to them and perceive school as a negative place to be.
While many bullies regularly have behavior problems not all of them do. Many of them have strong social skills and know how to fit in with both their peers and the adults around them. This is more often the case with female bullies than with male bullies.
The problem with this is that most parents assume that a female student would never become a bully and they often don't believe it if their daughter is accused of bullying.
This makes it easier for females to get away with bullying.
The Fate Of A Bullied Child In May of 2010 an 11 year old in Oklahoma named Ty Field Smiley killed himself as a result of having been bullied by classmates.
The day he killed himself he had been suspended from school for sticking up to a bullying who had been harassing him for the entire duration of the school year.
When he was suspended his mother picked him up at school, drove him home and told him to do chores and homework while she went back to work. However, Ty had other plans that involved going into his parent's bedroom, getting their gun and shooting himself in the head. While the boy's parents reported that for the duration of that school year and the previous one their son was bullied at school the school's district offices denied this claim. How School Students Are Affected By Bullying When bullying is allowed to take place in schools the entire environment is affected and the students feel this effect the most.
Students then become disrespectful and fearful of their school which can lead to behavior problems.
It also makes it more difficult for students to learn and take full advantage of the education they are being offered.
Students often start to become insecure and look for excuses to avoid going to school at all. They feel unsafe at school because they believe no one will do anything to stop the bullying.
Many times those who have been bullied in elementary, middle or high school often choose not to go to college because they fear the bullying will simply continue while they are there. They may also continue to experience bullying in their personal and work lives throughout the course of their adult life.
The school environment puts perceived pressure on many teens to keep their mouths shut when they witness bullying, in order to maintain friendships with their classmates. Teenagers often feel isolated when they publicly stick up for a friend who has been bullied, so they tend to look the other way when it happens. At the other end of the spectrum is the kids who are being bullied.
These kids often have a hard time making friends because their classmates perceive them negatively if they are frequently bullied by their peers. Preventing School Bullying In Michigan there are now 37 laws designed to prevent the act of bullying.
Despite these laws, many schools have been forced to go to court when the parent of a bullied child decides to take legal action against the school. Some of these lawsuits have resulted in schools having to pay millions of dollars in damage.
Students can help prevent bullying in a number of different ways.
Any student that is being bullied by a classmate needs to speak up about the bullying rather than ignore it.
They are advised to tell their teachers as well as their parents.
It is helpful if students who are being bullied are able to hide their fear, as showing fear makes them more vulnerable to attacks from their classmates and peers.
Many bullies act out against other children because they find it easy to attack kids who are weaker than they are.
Anyone being bullied that can give an outward appearance of confidence can often deflect the bullies on their own. Once they realize they are not getting any attention as a result of bullying an individual they will back off because there is nothing in it for them. When students feel threatened by others they need to call immediate attention to the situation.
Verbally alerting those around them to the bullying taking place can help divert it.
Those who are bullied at any age are urged to speak out about their experience.
This gives others around them the strength to tell their own stories of bullying, which spreads awareness of the problem and can sometimes even help prevent it from happening in the future.

Rising Raisins and Pop Bottle Fountains - A Science Inquiry Experience - Part 2
In Part 1 of this experience, students worked with "Rising Raisins".
There they found that bubbles prefer to form on a surface and just not come out of solution on their own.
Here, we take that knowledge and attempt to get lots of bubbles to form in one small area to create a "Pop Bottle Fountain". For this, you will need a two liter bottle of seltzer water. Soda will work fine but it tends to make a sticky mess.
Seltzer water will just evaporate leaving no sticky residue. As far as clean-up is concerned, seltzer water is the winner.
You will also need a hammer, nail, a piece of string about two feet long, some tape, and a candy Menthos. Menthos are mint flavored chewy candies found in the grocery check-out.
There are six or eight in a package.
Have the students make observations about a Mentho.
They will note that its white, smooth, and not round. Ask them to observe the shell more closely.
It really isn't as smooth as it appears on first glance.
What do you think will happen if we place this in seltzer water? Carefully remove the cap from the seltzer bottle.
Some gas will escape.
Don't worry. Place the cap on the sidewalk so that the top is facing up.
In this way something could be hidden under it, but that's not what is going to happen.
Using the hammer, pound the nail through the top of the cap to make a hole.
You are done with the hammer and nail.
Run the string through the hole so that the cap is halfway up the string.
Attach one Mentho to the end of the string that is going into the cap.
Use some tape to do this.
This attachment will be flimsy at best.
Draw the attached Mentho up into the bottle cap by pulling on the string that leaves the top of the cap. Screw the cap (with the Mentho inside) tightly onto the bottle. Do not let the Mentho touch the seltzer water.
You're ready for the fountain.
Make sure it is pointing at no one.
Count down, "Three, two, one!", and pull the string. The Mentho will be freed from the string and tape and drop into the seltzer water. There, the Mentho will provide lots of surface for bubbles to form very quickly. The pressure will build inside the bottle and the water will spray from the bottle as a gorgeous, though short lived, fountain.
Quite exciting, indeed.
Did the students guess correctly? Next time, more science activities to try. Until then, have fun!

Online Degrees - Moms Learning at Home
Many times, the use of the title "stay-at-home-mom" does not conjure images of a hard-working college student, but that doesn't mean the two do not go well together.
Only seventy percent of college students are under the age of 25, with an average of that thirty percent being over thirty years old.
Being able to balance a college education and parenting is not easy, but it is at least easier when online degrees.
When you are selecting an online degree you should have a plan and a degree in a market which you will or already enjoy.
There are many accredited universities and online colleges which offer distance programs that allow you to do all of your class work online with just a simple internet connection. Often times, you are provided an email address through the school, making it hassle free for you. Getting online degrees has never been easier than it is now.
And sometimes the first step toward an online job for mom is mom getting an education. Signing up for an online degree program is simple for those who have little time or miscellaneous availability.
The variety of majors makes it possible for mothers with any interest to apply and succeed.
There are associate's degrees, bachelor's degrees, master's degrees, or doctorate degrees available online.
Being a mother requires discipline and organization.
Being a student online requires the same coinciding with computer and internet access.
This flexibility makes online degree programs perfect for stay at home mothers. Stay-at-home-mothers are able to achieve their dreams without rearranging their schedules each day.
Being limited to cooking and cleaning should not be the only thing in your future.
Educational life can continue after children by getting degrees, then advancing your career.
To begin obtaining your degree online or online training, you select the institution which you choose, then fill out the online admissions application. Once this is done, the internet can be used to enroll in classes, make payments on tuition, and break apart your classes in manageable sizes.
Each of the course options vary in their type, length, and level based upon previous studies.
The benefits of these degrees include the fact that stay at home mothers can raise their confidence levels knowing that they have achieved a college education.
They increase their chances in any job market and can use this to increase the income level of the household.
Online education can lead to online work for stay-at-home-mothers which can add supplemental income to the family.
By attending accredited online institutions, stay-at-home-mothers can achieve the same degree that would by attending classes at a traditional institution without having to get on campus.
Lastly, by achieving an online education, stay at home mothers reduce their educational costs by eliminating travel expenses and on-campus expenses. There is financial aid for stay-at-home-mothers thanks to the Federal Scholarship program which the Obama Administration created.
By first applying for the academic institution of their choice, those mothers who stay at home can then investigate whether their particular course qualifies them for a scholarship.
Filling out these applications with all true information will make it easier to obtain approval. The colleges will contact the applicants once they get a response.
The best part about this is it eliminates the need to repay college loans.

How to Prepare - Study Supplies for Kids
Every year, many 5 or 6-year-old kids will be enrolled in primary school, starting their long education "marathon".
One concern may come to their parents' mind: how to prepare study supplies for the kids before they go to school.
It's advised to take the kids with their parents when shopping, which will make the kids get interested in the study tools.
Besides, it's better to choose the durable simple-designed and good-looking ones that not too expensive, or these tools would become their toys, distracting attentions in class.
Here is a list of study supplies that are suitable for school beginners.
1. A desk lamp: incandescent kind with downy light, 15-25 watt, has a lampshade that can cover the whole bulb and keep eyes comfortable. It's useful for evening homework.
2.
A bag that is durable and light with two belts on shoulders.
3. A pencil box: simple and durable, will prevent kids diverting attentions on homework.
4.
Pencils, 5 hexagon-shaped ones are suggested.
Do not choose round-shaped ones, for they can disturb kids holding pencils well enough to write.
5.
Choose a pencil sharpener with good quality.
It will help kids form habit of sharpen their pencils by themselves.
6.
Prepare 2 sets of color pens, one set of water pens and one set of oil painting with12 colors.
Those will be useful in painting classes. 7. Prepare several simple and durable erasers without pictures on them.
8.
Rulers and triangles: those will be useful in math classes.
9.
An alarm clock: put a lovely alarm clock on the side of the kids' bed and it'll be good for kids' self managing on time.

Online Education Offers Unparalleled Learning Freedom - From the Comfort of Home
Colleges and universities have always been about granting degrees of higher learning to their communities. As transportation means developed, those communities were expanded and students could go away to school. The information age explosion was birthed when the personal computer got access to the internet.
Colleges are clamoring for students and their tuition money at a time when the cost of higher education is soaring. In order to get market share and contain costs, the number of online courses and degree programs is expanding.
Students have more options available to them today than at any other time.
If they are motivated to put out the effort and disciplined enough to follow through, there is no limit to the level of education that is attainable. Whether you are a recent high school graduate or have been in the workplace and have not been in a college class for several years, there are ways to combine online courses with night school, weekend classes, and short courses.
This is especially beneficial for the student who must juggle a work schedule and family obligations with their busy lifestyle while trying to finish their education.
Not everyone who wants to go back to college is seeking a degree.
There is an amazing array of courses available for those who already have a degree but need a certificate since they moved from out of state.
This is often the case with school teachers, or realtors, and many others whose employment requires local credentials.
The prospect of online learning is appealing, but not necessarily appropriate for everyone.
Since all students, young and mature, have individual learning strengths and styles, no one method is perfect for all learners. For some, the classroom environment offers the best learning experience, while others do just fine with independent study and the flexibility of distance learning where the environment is a virtual digital concept utilizing emails, bulletin boards and online examinations.
Personal accountability and discipline are a must when a student is responsible for their own learning experience.
This is usually easier for the more mature student returning to school with a specific life changing goal in mind, rather than the typical recent high school graduate who is going to school on their parent's money and still haven't decided on a degree plan. The distractions available online or on campus can really be detrimental to one's progress. If you can't focus on the goal and break it down into achievable sub goals, then perhaps the online approach is not appropriate for you and you might be best served in the traditional classroom environment rather than online distance education classes.
My purpose is not to discourage you from taking advantage of distance learning whether in the form of online classrooms, or online study for credit by examination.
Online education in its various forms is by far the best option for many working professionals who want to go to the next level in their chosen careers, and improve their earning potential.
The lack of rigid structure in online education allows you to take courses as your schedule permits and schedule your studies and exams when you are ready.
You can go to college in your pajamas, who is going to know? That is nothing new, I was always suspicious of one guy in my biology lecture class, but that is another story.
You might find time during the day to read a chapter, review flash cards, or work a problem, or take advantage of your commute to and from work.
If you are motivated and focused, you are in position to take full advantage of the superior flexibility of online educational opportunities to further your education and obtain that coveted college degree.
I want to encourage you to take an online class that interests you, or to find a course where you can get credit by exam.
Either one of these concepts might open your eyes to the limitless educational opportunities available to you as you begin your online degree plan from the comfort of your home.

Calculus eBook Makes Learning Calculus Easier
For most of us learning calculus isn't easy.
How many times have you looked up the answer to a problem in the back of the textbook and smacked yourself on the head saying "how did they get that"? Well those days are over.
A new calculus eBook called "Calculus without Limits" approaches the subject in a different way-showing you in detailed step-by-step fashion how to do calculus problems. Discussions of theorems and proofs are avoided in favor of a plain-English approach based on problem solving. The book is organized to cover most first year college calculus courses.
Introductory chapters include limits, derivatives, and the applications of the derivative. Although the book is called "Calculus without Limits", that's just a pun, as calculating limits is covered in detail.
Solved examples include basic limit computation, one-sided limits, infinite limits and limits at infinity.
Limits of trig functions, exponentials, and logarithms is also included. Two chapters on differentiation are extensive.
The first one lays out the basics of computing derivatives like the power rule and derivative of a constant, then its on to the basic rules everyone struggles with, the product rule, the quotient rule, and the chain rule. The next chapter, applications of the derivative, covers standard topics like max-min problems, Rolle's theorem, and implicit differentiation, along with computing derivatives of the inverse trig and hyperbolic functions. The second part of the book is primarily devoted to integratin, and this part of the book is really helpful.
Each topic is accompanied by a solutions where dozens of integrals are worked out in complete step-by-step detail. The first chapter goes over the basics, teaching you about Reimann sums, basic integration, and integration of trig, exponential, and log functions.
Then a really extensive and information-packed chapter shows how to do problems involving u-substitution, integration by parts, trig substitution, partial fractions, and rational functions.
There are also chapters on improper integration and integrating powers of trig functions. Each chapter has mutliple examples with detailed problem solutions. The last chapter covers sequences and infinite series.
This includes a clear English explanation of what sequences and infinte series are, along with examples showing how to take limits of sequences. Then all the standard tests for convergence are covered and applied to examples: the root test, the integral test and so on. Power series and Taylor series are also covered.
This calculus eBook is also accompanied by two bonus ebooks. The first one is L'Hopitals rule, a favorite subject of calculus haters. After studying this chapter, they won't believe how easy calculus really is. Finally there is a very helpful ebok that introduces ordinary differential equations and their solutions.
If you've thought calculus is hard or you can't pass it, you might want to give this calculus eBook a try.

Frequently Asked Questions About Children's Bikes
As parents we do research about children's bikes for our children. However, there are a lot of questions that are usually left unanswered.
In this article we will aim to answer some of the questions that are asked in relation to children's bikes. What types of children's bikes are there? There are several versions of bikes.
There is the standard two wheeled bike with pedals and also the balance bike that does not have any pedals.
You also have tricycles.
These are bicycles with two back wheels and one wheel in the front. You can also purchase stabilisers separately to add them onto normal bigger bikes.
Are there any benefits to having a stabilisers bike? Besides actually promoting physical activity in your child there are no other benefits from owning a stabilizing bicycle for your child.
You want the bicycle that your child is using to promote their balance, their co-ordination and their steering. This will particularly become useful later on in life. Using a balance bike is more likely to promote this at an early age as there are not any stabiliser wheels to rely upon.
What about a normal bicycle just with stabilisers added on to them? Stabilisers can be bought separately from an actual bicycle.
This means that you buy a bigger bicycle with pedals and then just add on the stabilisers to help balance your child out. While this is a cheaper alternative then purchasing two different bicycles, this is probably the most ineffective of the bicycles.
Often the bicycle sizes are too big for your child and it can make cycling extremely different.
Especially for a beginner. Rather forgo this option as it has too many pitfalls.
Is a balance bike more effective than a stabilisers bike? Balance bikes literally outrun stabilisers by miles when it comes to effectiveness and benefits.
There are simply no positive benefits when using stabilisers.
When you use a balance bike your child works on their balance, co-ordination, confidence and their steering.
Balance bikes teach your children how to effectively ride a bicycle and balance on their own.
This makes moving onto a bigger bicycle extremely easy.

Baby on Board: How to Choose the Right Car Seat
A baby's tiny world begins to unfold from the time she takes her first ride in the world outside.
A happily gurgling baby safely tucked into a car seat with a view of the scenery beyond the window is an utterly delightful sight. However, getting the right car seat is not always a well-researched decision by parents who want to get the cheapest, best and most long-lasting option in the market.
A low-down on the main considerations: Rear-facing car seat These are essentially meant for infants where the baby faces the rear of the car while riding. Paediatricians recommend that babies ride rear-facing until they are 12 months and weigh at least 20 to 30 pounds. These come with precise weight and height specifications to ensure maximum safety for its occupant. The safest position to install this type of seats is at the center of the back-seat of the vehicle, using either the anchorage system of the car seat & belts with locking clips. The main purpose is to protect the baby's vulnerable parts like the head, neck and spine from sudden stops or collisions.
Convertible or forward-facing car-seats The rear-facing infant seats can sometimes double as forward-facing seats, meant for toddlers or babies above a year old and more than 22 pounds in weight.
Typically, the baby is ready to face forward in his seat when the head height is just short of an inch from the seat's top edge.
The front-facing car seat comes with a five-point safety harness mechanism to constrain and secure an active baby in a way that any colliding force is distributed across the strongest body parts like the shoulder, hip and crotch.
They also have tether straps that hold the top of the car seat firmly and prevent the seat from moving ahead in case of a collision. It is hence vital to anchor the car seat very firmly in its base and attach the safety belts as per the specifications to avoid any casualties to the baby in front-facing position. Booster seats Booster seats are meant for older children above at least 40 pounds. Once the weight specification is crossed, the safest bet is to shift the child into a booster seat fitted directly on the seat of the vehicle.
The booster seats do not come with a seat base or harness belts. Instead they are attached to the seat of the vehicle and strapped using the shoulder belts, which hold both the seat and baby firmly in place. The safest position to strap the booster seat in your vehicle is at the centre of the back seat.
Positioning the belts is crucial, with the lap belt going across the hips (and not the tummy) and shoulder belts through the chest (and not the neck) in order to ensure the safest fit.
Other considerations Apart from the baby's age and size metrics, there are other factors too, that can influence the choice.
Type of vehicle: Car seats do not fit into every vehicle model.
The best approach is to take the floor model and try fitting it into your vehicle to check for fitment, anchorage and lateral leg space for free leg movements.
Ease of installation: Assembling or dissembling the car seat, converting orientation from rear to forward or simply making fitting adjustments is something parents just have to learn, and an easy mechanism is always helpful. Ease of maintenance: The car seat is going to be the beneficiary of food crumbs, spilled liquids, throw-ups and a lot of stains. Hence, a seat cover that's easily washable is an added bonus. Know your brand: Do check the technical specifications, installation instructions and recalled model data of various brands for your babies.
Toy Collectors and Their Skills
Many people find toy collectors odd. Perhaps, they do so because toys are most often associated with children; not adults. They have this general idea that people usually get over toys as they reach puberty and mature.
However, people, particularly adults who collect toys should not be labeled as weird.
It can even be said that being toy collectors has made them better people.
This is because of this fact: Toy collecting teaches people many skills and values.
Of the many values and skills toy collecting teaches, three stand out as the most important and practical. These skills are great because not only can they help you function better in life; they can also help you earn more money in the future. Here are the three most important skills toy collecting develops: "Patience" This is one of the first things you learn when you start collecting toys.
In order to be considered a successful toy collector, a person needs to have the patience when it comes to searching for and acquiring collectibles.
Without patience, one can never be a successful collector.
"Resourcefulness" One needs to be resourceful in order to complete collections.
All toy collectors have this skill.
Being resourceful means having the ability to search for toys, regardless if they are hard to find or not.
"Sociability" Contrary to popular belief, toy collectors need to be social.
This is because being social would lead them to more toy discoveries. Completing collections would be a lot easier if you had contacts who share your passion.
Also, having a good network of fellows can lead to possible income in the future.
One can learn many other skills and traits from being a toy collector.
These skills are mostly practical and can be applied in everyday living.
If you are good enough, you can even make a small profit from your collection.
You don't have to make an extra effort; all you have to do is be a good collector and take care of your collections properly. So how can one make money from being a toy collector? There are indeed many ways to do so.
However, the most common is by selling your rare and hard-to-find toys to others.
You see, toys increase market value over time. This is especially true for rare toys. It is easy to find fellow collectors who want a certain rare toy.
Many are willing to pay a good price for such toys. Now, as long as you keep these rare toys of yours in good shape, you can definitely profit from them. You can say they're like investments.
For toy collectors, there are many other ways of profiting from toys.
If you don't want to sell your toys, you don't have to; you can still earn from them even when keeping them.
If you want to learn more about this, just look for a good resource that you can read so as to learn more about the ins and outs of profiting from toy collecting.

LARP - Benefits of a Low Hit Combat System For Larping
There are many arguments for high hit and low hit LARP systems. Both systems have advantages and disadvantages and many LARPers have a particular system that they prefer.
I wish to show here some of the arguments in favour of a low hit combat system. As an example I am talking about a LARP combat system where each character will have one hit for each body location; arms legs body and sometimes head.
(Not all live action role playing clubs allow head hits.
) It may be possible to increase the number of hits slightly by wearing LARP armour.
More realistic LARP Combat One of the main benefits of a low hit LARP combat system is that it encourages players to fight in a much more realistic manner. If your opponent can only take one hit to each location then you tend to concentrate on the one telling blow that will either disable wound or kill your enemy.
A good example of this is the gladiator training in the film Spartacus where the trainer uses different colour paints to show the difference between a critical and disabling wound.
If your opponent has a shorter weapon you should try to take out a leg first to give the reach advantage.
If he has a shield aim for his weapon are without which he is helpless.
Honesty in LARP When fighting in a low hit LARP system players are a lot more likely to own up to their hits.
Honesty in LARP is very important; live role players are mostly a friendly group of people and will openly accept those new to role playing.
However if you do not own up to your blows in a LARP combat then people will not want to fight you.
If you can only take one blow per location, or in some LARP duels it is sudden death - one hit anywhere; you are much more likely to be honest when struck. Referees also have a better chance of seeing who hit first and can declare wins/blows.
(adsbygoogle = window.
adsbygoogle || []).
push({}); Longevity of LARP Weapons Live action role players almost exclusively now use combat safe latex LARP weapons when they go larping.
These weapons can be quite expensive, starting from as low as ten English pounds for a LARP dagger up to over one hundred pounds for a LARP two handed axe or similar. When you are only trading a few blows in a fight it is a lot less likely that your weapons will get broken.
Many larpers that use one hit LARP systems will have the same weapons for over ten years.
LARP Safety If the first blow can end a LARP combat then there will be a lot less blows struck and it is therefore unlikely that players will get close enough for shield bashes or for any form of grappling which is banned by most LARP groups.
Team fighting in LARP Like in all sports there will be some people who are better than others.
Live action role playing is no different.
However no matter how good you are at LARP fighting if larpers work as a team they will defeat you.

You should also take a look at the school's syllabus for each class a few times.
This makes sure you are always aware of what your professors expect of you. Always let your professor know what is going on and this can help them learn who you are more than just a name.
Because your professors and fellow classmates can't see your face, you should always watch what you say and how you say it.

Three Things Your Child's Elementary School Teacher Will Never Tell You (But She IS Thinking It!)
You're finally sitting face-to-face with your child's teacher, ready to discuss his reading and math performance or perhaps his playground conduct grade.
You met her at the school's first parent night, you've read the class newsletter, you've even exchanged emails that day he stayed home sick with a tummy ache.
Behind that bubbly personality and that professional demeanor, you'll be shocked to know what she's really thinking about you: 1) You are in the classroom too much.
It's called "helicopter mom" syndrome.
One teacher recalls a contest she hosted to reward students with perfect attendance by letting them be "teachers for the day.
" When it was one student's turn to pretend to be the teacher for that day, the mother stayed in the classroom the entire day--not participating in the class activities--but just sort of staring from ten feet away.
The teacher and students felt like ants in an observation jar. Also, students sometimes display undesirable behaviors when their parents are in the room that they don't otherwise display. Some children are noticeably more aggressive or less productive.
While most teachers sincerely appreciate volunteers, make sure that your presence is purposeful and wanted. 2) Remember last winter break when you called the school just as the teachers were leaving to ask her to wait for you to get back to the school to retrieve your child's left behind cap? Well, the teacher hasn't forgotten being the last teacher to leave the school that day. Nor did the custodian or the assistant principal, all of whom had to wait around-without extra compensation-on you.
Sometimes parents forget that teachers have lives outside of their classrooms.
Many are willing to grade papers or write lesson plan after hours.
However, at the end of the work day, most teachers' attention spans for the day have been spent already. That includes parents who are late to pick up their children from after school events as well! 3) Your child would be better off with another teacher.
Like students, teachers have unique personalities and specialized skills sets.
Some teachers are better with students who have disabilities, some are better at drawing out shy personalities in students. Where a strict disciplinarian might be just the trick for a student who warrants structure, that same teacher might stifle or even frighten another student.
Principals place different combinations of teachers in the same grade level for a reason, and not always because one teacher is more talented than another. So why wouldn't your teacher just recommend a teacher change? Her colleagues might likely consider the suggestion her way of getting rid of a difficult student.
Even worse, she doesn't want you to assume she doesn't want to deal with your child just because of her deficiencies; often this is considered a violation of a student's federally sanctioned rights (read: lawsuit). Also, the school may have a policy against student class changes.
Either way, approach the subject delicately if you believe your child might benefit from being in a different teacher's class.
Find out what the school policy says, and consider going to the school's principal directly.
Be sure to emphasize the reason your child needs a different kind of teacher. This is not the time for personal attacks or accusations.

5 Reasons to Hire a Tutor For Your High School Student
If you are a parents considering hiring a private tutor for your high school student, you are not alone. In fact, many high schools recommend private tutoring for students whose needs cannot be met in the traditional classroom setting. Your student may be an intelligent, good learner, but classrooms do not work for all students equally. A private tutor can present the one-on-one attention required to get your student through school easier.
Reason 1: Tutors Teach Study Skills Regardless of your student's intelligence, study skills are rarely an innate ability a person is born with. Study skills are learned through years of instruction in schools and other settings.
If your student failed to develop the necessary study skills at a young age, he or she may be facing a large hurdle to academic success.
A private tutor can work with your student to develop the necessary study skills to carry through high school and college. Whether you need a math tutor, science tutor or history tutor, study skills will be universally taught. Reason 2: Tutors Help Get Homework Done It is no secret that high school students are frequently distracted outside of school and often do not complete homework.
The lunch room at a high school is full of students bent over Geometry books frantically finishing up last night's assignment. By setting aside an hour each night to work with a private tutor, your high school student will have dedicated, supervised homework time. Simply having the time set aside with no distraction means your student will finally turn off the TV, instant messenger and radio and be able to focus on the assignment.
Reason 3: High School Grades are Important College admission is competitive.
Your student needs more than good test scores or extra-curricular activities to gain admission to the college of his or her choice. Even if your student is pursuing admission at a less competitive school, it is important that he or she have options. The college experience is about choosing a school that matches personal academic, social, geographical and extra curricular preferences.
Without options, your student will not be able to choose the best school for each of these criteria.
Grades are important; class rank is important.
One "C" in chemistry can significantly impact the options available.
Reason 4: Tutors Teach Test Skills The days of blindly sitting for an SAT or ACT are, thankfully, behind us.
Most students will have some preparation before taking a placement test.
To get your student on an equal playing field, you can locate an SAT tutor that has proven results in improving test scores. JD Tutors, a private tutoring service, even offers college application assistance once your student has taken the placement tests.
If other students are using these services, your student will be at a disadvantage going it alone.
Reason 5: You Can't Do It Yourself If your high school student listens to and respects your guidance, you are in the minority.
It is more likely that you have difficulty getting your student to listen to your advice and follow your rules. While all parents want to be able to handle this on their own, this problem can often be overcome by simply bringing in an outside authority.

Where To Get PC Repair Help In A Hurry
If you're working at home, you're probably using your computer for any number of things both for business and personal.
And at some point you're probably going to need some PC repair.
And if you're the type of person who really doesn't know a whole lot about your computer besides moving the mouse or hitting a few keys on the keyboard, you may not even think about a computer actually needing any kind of repair at all. But no matter how well you maintain your computer system by having the right kind of antivirus software installed, cleaning out old files and even blowing dust out of the computer once in a while, everyone encounters some type of problems at one time or another.
In my case, I was having a technical problem in the audio system that had me all kinds of puzzled for a few days trying it figure it out.
I had been using a headset and separate microphone that plugged into their respective jacks in the front of the computer.
Knowing I needed to upgrade to a headset with its own boom mike, I opted for a headset with a USB connection. It was really nice as a headset but I when I tried to record with a couple of my programs using the microphone, my voice wasn't being recognized. I tried for days trying to figure it out.
I finally went out on Google and did some searching and found out that the USB connection was overriding my sound card, or something to that effect, and so that particular headset was not going to work. Fortunately that particular headset came with the split jack option connection.
Once I disconnected the USB headset and plugged the new headset into the mike and headset jacks, I was all set - problem solved.
Even something so simple as the wrong type of connection into your computer can cause a conflict so it's always good to be a little more knowledgeable about your computer system beyond the keyboard and monitor.
And even more so, you need to know where to get the PC repair help you need. Sometimes it's not even the computer that needs repaired, but the peripherals that need to be changed out. The first thing you can do when you need some computer repair help is to look in the Help files of your own computer. Windows users can find help files for specific programs you're running. Go to the Troubleshooting section of the different files and see if the problem you're having is listed there along with some possible solutions. If you're not having much luck with those files, head on over to YouTube and type your problem or question in the search box.
It's amazing the things that you can learn on YouTube about computers.
If you're having some technical problems with Internet crashes or connection or communication problems, you can find a lot of IT support videos on YouTube also.
For specific product-based problems, jump on Google, Yahoo or Bing, or whatever your favorite search engine is, and go right to the product website and check their frequently asked questions page.
Some products even have forums where you can browse for specific trouble-shooting areas and get some answers.
If you haven't had any luck with any of these resources, you can do a search for some business services that actually specialize in computer repair.
Give a couple of them a call and see if maybe they can help you at least detect the problem you're having.
Sometimes the problem might be something as simple as a conflict between two software programs.
Or like in my case, a conflicting peripheral plug-in. Yes, even us old hat experienced people run into computer technical problems that can make you scratch your head.
But knowing where to get the PC repair help you need is often most of the battle right there.

The New Student - How Do They Learn at School?
"What just happened?" I wondered as I came home from my first day at school in September, 2006. I was reeling and disoriented.
Having taught math to high school students in the mid-1980's, it was my first day teaching again after a twenty-year break. Instinctively, I sensed that the kids I just met in my classroom were different from those I had taught over decades earlier. But I could not put my finger on the difference. I did know, however, that if I was to survive and thrive as a teacher, I had better figure out quickly what that difference was! Fast forward four years. The nature of the changes in students between 1985 and 2010 is starting to reveal itself.
I can identify tangible observable patterns. Based on my observations, I have classified this generational change in students as follows: Students today · Have greater access to far more knowledge, with far less effort · Are less willing to make effort or struggle to gain depth of understanding.
· Tend to not respect hierarchy unless it is, in their estimation, earned by an elder, teacher, etc. · Rely more on parental assistance than self-reliance · Are more likely to have poor health and diet, be overweight, medicated and dull. · Lack resources to manage stress or be resilient under pressure · Often replace accountability and respect with deception and manipulation · Experience interrelatedness, i.
e.
, relationship to peers, primarily through technology What has given me a unique perspective on these changes is the fact that I took twenty years off from teaching to study the spiritual dimensions of life (see Bio link below).
I was not a part of the incremental shift from one generation to the next.
I went AWOL from the world of family, friends and work to experience and explore the more subtle dimensions of reality. Indeed, I wanted desperately to understand how life works. Returning to teaching was like coming back to the town you grew up in after twenty years away. Things are familiar but the changes are disorienting and curious.
In contemplating these differences I have been developing some radical methods in the classroom in order to reach out to this generation. I have found many students deeply out of touch with their experience. Consequently many are deeply cynical about their ability to be free agents to affect their future. Giving them this glimpse that they have deeper, untapped resources way beyond what they believe is in them, is the biggest gift I can offer my students.
Some of the methodologies I am now using with students in my classes include meditation and character building (see classroom pictures).
Students are often amazed when they discover that they can manage their stress or use their minds to discover inner resources that no one ever told them about. Simple discussions on accountability, choices, and consequences often give them a means to respond more maturely and with greater self-awareness.
They are building back some of the qualities that students of prior generations had-qualities which, unbeknownst to these 21st century students, remain for them relatively undeveloped.
Please forward this blog onto other educators, friends and parents.
It is an important discussion. I'll be sharing more about my innovative work with students in upcoming blog posts. For more information about my work in the classroom you can also contact me through my website or email me. Stay Strong, Laurie

The Importance of DNS and IP Address
Now day's innumerous websites are being used on the web and daily people creating various websites. To find out the site of interest of a particular field or person people use the domain name system and internet protocol address to access their site of interest.
The DNS and the IP address play an important role here to get people to the desired website.
The DNS is used to translate the domain name into an IP address that helps the user to visit the desired website.
In the absence of the domain name system it takes a long time to visit any website.
At the present scenario people should be aware of these two things and it does not matter whether they are a computer geek or not. So let's talk about some basic things of DNS.
A domain name system is used to retain the domain name hierarchy.
The DNS manages to translate the service between it and the address spaces.
The organizations that offer managed IT services also have hosting services for managed servers.
There is a particular web server that does the task of maintaining the domain names and addresses.
It is a computer system assigned and set in such a way that it directs the user into the specified direction.
The second thing is the internet protocol address.
It is meant to use for labeling all the devices present in the network. Here the network device can be a computer system, scanner, printer etc. that is comprised in the network.
The DNS acts for the name of the searched item and the user gets it from the IP which is the address for that and lets us grab it.
With the increasing advancement in the technology the internet is continuously expanding itself at a fast rate.
Sometimes it is very difficult to navigate through it.
It is very necessary that the website has a low loading time otherwise the user may change for another site.
The secondary domain name service can also be used that behaves like a backup and it does not let your domain name down.
If you are taking the web hosting services then the provider should also have a good IT support system to provide quick assistance if there is any issue in the loading process of your site. Having an efficient IT support team, the control and accessibility of the network automatically get nourished.
The benefits a user gets from the service provider are enhanced security, flexibility and the most important thing is that your process is running by a skilled backend team.

Industrial Manipulators Help Increase Productivity
Both money and jobs become a main priority and stressful as we get older.
Even if you are good at saving money, there are stressful times where money is tight.
These are the times to take delight in the little things.
Any help to make things at work to be less stressful, is always appreciative. Does your job involve heavy lifting or moving objects around in tiny spaces? There is just the tool for you, although, this is a big tool. Articulating lifts help take a load off lifting heavy, bulky or any items that are too much for a worker to endure. I don't know any job that doesn't expect hard work.
And I am sure there are certain industrial positions where managers expect too much from their employees.
If you're in a managerial position, perhaps consider helping your workers with articulating arms. These manipulators pick up parts and move them however you need to maneuver.
General manipulators can lift upwards of 500 pounds. There are certain manipulators that manufacture grippers, vacuum pick up devices, and magnets. Vacuum suction or gripping is ideal for fragile parts. Don't think that just because they are fragile, they have to be handled by employees.
Fragile parts are heavy too. In my head, articulating arms are very futuristic in the sense that humans are controlling these extra long arms of theirs to help them work.
They are meant to help working, move it along faster; therefore they help increase productivity.
The main benefit of utilizing ergonomic lifts is the lessening of employee injuries.
No one likes to be out of job, yet alone no company wants to be known as the place the works their employees to injury. Realistically, it's not like any employer would allow that to happen.
Manipulators are considered 3-D. They are available as electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic manipulators. Material handling jobs will be a breeze when there are extra arms involved.
The amount of weight capable of being lifted depends on the type of manipulator.
For example hydraulic ones can lift to 1000 pounds. Specifications obviously differ based on what the business needs.
Stress at work doesn't make it easy to get up in the morning.
Some situations involve good stress, like completing a major project for a big company.
When the results are rewarding, it makes the stress tolerable.
Lifting heavy loads daily with an industrial manipulator makes a job easier and more effective.

What is Your Teen Doing Online Tonight?
Parents, Do You Know What Your Teen is Doing Online Tonight?
One of the Biggest Threats to Teens Today is "cyberbullying".
Is Your Teen Involved? In a report first published on Feb 10, 2009, it was reported that Teenagers spend an average of 31 hours a week online and nearly two hours a week looking at pornography, according to a study. (Emphasis mine throughout.) They spend some three and a half hours communicating with friends on MSN, and around two hours on YouTube and in chat rooms. Just over an hour is devoted to looking up cosmetic surgery procedures such as how to enlarge breasts and get collagen implants, an hour and a half is spent on family planning and pregnancy websites and one hour 35 minutes is spent investigating diets and weight loss.
One in four teenagers of the 1,000 polled said they regularly spoke to strangers online but thought it harmless, and one in three admitted trying to hide what they were looking at if a parent entered the room.
What wasn't reported in this study was that 42% of all teens also report having been "cyberbullied" while online.
Cyberbullying includes threatening emails, harassing emails, extortion, emailing or texting sexually explicit text, photos or videos, and applying peer pressure to involve teens in illegal activities. Fifty per cent of cyberbullying lasted on average 2-4 days, while approximately 30 percent lasted a week or longer.
Over 41 percent of the time cyberbullying took place with instant messaging, chat rooms and blogs (MySpace, Xanga, Facebook, Bebo, etc).
In addition, 35 percent reported that e-mail was used to cyberbully them The cyberbullying including being threatened or harassed.
being lied about, teased or called names, usually more than once.
The question that arises is if 42% have reported being cyberbullied, what is the REAL figure? Many teens will not report it out of fear of more reprisals from the bullies, or fear their parents will remove their online or cell phone privileges.
But the real threat of cyberbullying is where it may lead.
In some cases, teens have been driven to follow through, and actually commit suicide because of cyberbullying.
A recent report from CBS news states that a 17-year old teen in West Islip.
took here own life after being constantly cyberbullied.
Not only was she cyberbullied to the extent that she took her own life, the cyberbullying continued even AFTER she died! This is just one instance. Go online and Google "cyberbullying" and as of this date, you will find over 125,000 different posting about this threat! The problem with most teens is they think they are capable of handling things for themselves. They don't want Mom or Dad "interfering" with their lives.
But isn't this is an instance where Mom or Dad SHOULD be involved? How about it, Moms and Dads? Do you KNOW what your kids are doing on line tonight? Are you monitoring their internet activity? Have you ever read any of their emails? Have you ever looked at their pages on MySpace or Facebook? Do you even know if they have pages up there? I'm not advocating standing over them every minute they're online, but at least be aware of what's going on! You should know who their online friends are, what chat rooms they visit, what sites they look at.
, what kind of email they receive.
As long as they are under your roof, and you are supporting them, you have the right to know. In fact, you SHOULD know! They may not like it, but it's really for their own good. Please take this seriously! Do you KNOW what your teen is doing online tonight?

Generation Text
Text messages, IM's, and chat rooms, provide new ways for students to communicate without all the anxiety that comes from looking someone in the eye. With ready access to cell phones, it's not uncommon to see a group of students sitting together engaged in silent text conversations with someone else. And while most parents can tell you the cost these unlimited text plans add to a phone bill, it is difficult to assess social and relational price we are paying.
THE RESEARCH: In the book Social Intelligence, Daniel Goleman synthesizes research surrounding the social functioning of the brain. Goleman cites a study of social interactions where college students were paired together with strangers in online chat rooms.
Nearly 20% of these conversations "quickly became startlingly sexual, with explicit terms, graphic discussions of sex acts, and outright solicitation of sex.
" The results were surprising, in part, because of how mild-mannered and respectful the study participants were in person.
This study highlights the activity of two parts of the brain in social situations.
THE GUT FEELING: One part of the brain rapidly processes information on a subconscious level giving us a feeling about people and situations.
This part of the brain can read others, knowing when a question or comment made someone else uncomfortable and then redirect our conversation accordingly.
THE THOUGHTFUL PART: Another part of the brain processes those feelings along with verbal expressions, but more slowly and on a conscious level. In this part of the brain we may try to understand why we get a creepy feeling around one person and not another. THE IMPLICATIONS: The study participants were limited to text on a screen, effectively blindfolding a portion of the brain that perceives the feelings of others.
When our conversations are not guided by what we perceive in another we miss opportunities for empathy, compassion and love.
Cyber-bullying and sexting are two examples of the social abuses to come, if technology is allowed to stunt the social development of the next generation.
If ingredients for a healthy social education are stripped from this learning process, we may see a marked decline in the value of life since careers, marriages, friends, and all other relationships depend on social intelligence.
"When our conversations are not guided by what we perceive in another we miss opportunities for empathy, compassion and love.
" THREE SUGGESTIONS FOR PARENTS: 1.
Help young people develop socially in the face of an easy, more comfortable alternative.
I believe you can monitor and adjust the social diet of your own children just as you would their food and nutrition. Be aware of how often your student uses technology in their social life and make sure it doesn't become a crutch or a weapon. 2. Protect your student from becoming a victim of others who are lacking the social cues necessary to be loving and empathetic.
Remember, a mild-mannered, polite boy or girl whose brain is partially blindfolded by technology can become a ruthless, self-centered source of pain. Cell phone bills and internet monitoring software can give you some information about the social habits and network of your child.
3.
Talk with your student about healthy social interaction and the risks.
Your credibility will increase every time your child is harassed or bullied through text, chat, or other technology.

Top Toys For Toddlers in 2010
Want to know the top toys for toddlers in 2010? If you've spent any time at all observing toddlers, you'll know how much they love to play and learn about the world around them.
Every year, there are favorites that always make the list of top toys and every year, there are new toys that quickly zip to the top of the list because of how quickly they become well loved hits.
And toddlers, while not an exacting audience, certainly do know which toys are fun and deserve to be on that list and which toys do not.
On the list for 2010 is the Fisher-Price Laugh and Learn Say Please Tea Set.
Little girls love to pretend to pour anything liquid and they love the idea of a little party, but that's not the only reasons why this tea set is a hit.
This set brings toddlers learning wrapped in imaginative play mode.
They'll discover things like shapes, numbers, proper manners and greetings and when they want to hear a song, all they have to do is push on the cute teabag.
A dessert plate holds three desserts in various shapes that toddlers will enjoy sharing with others at their party.
Another top toy for 2010 that's geared toward toddlers up to three years old is the Leap Frog My Pal Violet.
What a cute little learning companion this is! When you hook the toy up to your computer, you can program the toy to make it more personal for your child by going to the associated website.
You can include things like the color your child likes or her number one food choice. If you use the selection of names available, you can personalize it with your child's name so that when the toy sings, your child will hear her own name.
The toy is durable enough for toddlers to play with (even if they play rough) and yet soft enough for them to cuddle with. If your toddler wants to lie down for a nap with Violet by her side, by pushing on the paw, she'll be able to fall asleep listening to the songs.
Since they're active from the time they open their eyes until they close them again, sometimes, toddlers want toys they can sit down on and let someone else do the work.
You'll find a toy that toddlers love to ride on, love to scoot around on and love to push themselves around when you get the Push Around Buggy. Toddlers can toot the horn and pretend to 'drive' while someone else pushes them around.
This buggy is built strong enough to handle both indoor play and outdoor walks.
A seat belt is provided for child safety.
When they're not going for a ride, toddlers love to pack and unpack their goodies in the storage space.
You can find updated lists of the top 2010 toddler toys online, because manufacturers are always coming out with new toys for this age group and improving on the ones that have been a staple in the lives of children over the decades, too.
